We left for TN on Friday afternoon, drove halfway, just over the border in Kentucky, and stayed the night. The Westermans were with us too. We got to the hotel around 8 and took the kids directly to the pool. Then the next morning, we had the continental breakfast and got back on the road. I love seeing these three all snug together, sleeping!
This was the theater room! While we were busing unpacking and setting up, we put on a movie for the kids. They loved the big screen!
The company we rented with has a community pool. It was very hot during the day so two of the afternoons we hung out at this pool. The first day we went, there was a family there for about ten minutes, then they left and we had the pool to ourselves for the rest of the afternoon!
These next few pictures were on our way up to the highest point. We even got to see some bears eating on the side of the road!
Probably the coolest part about vacationing with families is the amount of time you get to spend together! After the kids would go to bed, we would stay up playing games. The covered porch was a great place for this.
We decided to take one of the days and go into Pigeon Forge and do some fun things with the kids. We rode go-carts, went down a giant slide, and Mike and Dave even bungee jumped! They had a junior go-cart course where all the kids were able to ride by themselves.
One of my favorite nights was dinner and walking around downtown Gatlinburg. It's such a great little town. I'm bummed we didn't do it more than once.
This restaurant was fantastic. They even put all 18 of us in our own room. The kids had their own table!
This was one of the last hikes we did, to some more falls. The kids wore their bathing suits so they could get in the river too. We all had fun climbing on the rocks!
We did a euchre tournament throughout the week and I happened to be the champ:)
Not the greatest picture of me! What a fantastic week. We loved vacationing with friends. Gatlinburg was a cool town but we probably won't go back. We are ocean people!
