This was just one of the beautiful buildings on campus at Kenyon College. The whole campus looked liked this!
Here are some of the students and leaders getting ready for one of the sessions to start. Each morning and evening we would sing along with a sweet praise band and then would listen to a message for about an hour. The speaker did an excellent job.
The first manual labor job we had was at a church in Columbus. We basically just did any work they needed around the church including cleaning bathrooms, vaccuuming, mowing the lawn, weeding the flower beds, caulking, and other miscelaneous work. The students had great attitudes the whole time and had a lot of fun.
This was our second trip out to Columbus, this time working with an inner-city group called Lower Lights. They do a lot of work with low income families.
Our third trip out was to another church/school just outside of Columbus where we just helped out with whatever they needed. This group painted this whole hallway.
It's amazing how great it can feel when you're doing things for others. God has wired that in us I believe but many times we let that go stagnant for a while. It's good to be reminded that there are so many less fortunate people in the world and how easy it is to lend a hand.
